Position Summary
- Communicate a visually compelling story, if at all possible, in all aspects of what you create
- Be responsible for all of the streaming technology and workflows that are currently implemented in the MediaLab’s broadcast system as well as recommend new workflows
- With a knowledge of remote and local broadcast mediums such as NDI, SRT, vMix Calls, etc, work to optimize our audio and visual feeds for live interviews, remote digital charetts, and other broadcast events
- Pursue inventive ways for creative storytelling in both shooting and editorial projects as it relates to studio productions and broadcast events
- Plan and prep studio and gear for all Live Broadcasts/streams and Live-to-tape productions
- Help develop and build the new Remote Studio Boxes
- Collaborate on evolving our broadcast and film abilities, helping the team experiment with new technologies and discerning where we can get the most value in our storytelling
- Be able to give constructive feedback to talent and coach participants on the best on-camera experience
- Facilitate all remote interview and presentations including rehearsals and sending camera kits
- Troubleshoot technical issues both in studio and in remote offices
- Be familiar and able to operate the various broadcast positions including Technical Director, Audio, Graphics, Teleprompter, etc.
- Understanding of various cameras (including Blackmagic Studio Camera, Canon C300, Panasonic PTZ150s & GH5, Canon DSLRs, DJI 4D, and others) with an understanding of how composition contributes to the overall broadcast.
- Collaborate with Director of Photography and Creative Directors on all aspects of production including: pre-production, camera equipment prep, shooting, ingesting, rough cutting and final deliverables – on architectural, commercial, entertainment, interactive, film, and broadcast projects
- Prepare and setup lighting grid and gear before an event
- Ingest raw footage and add applicable metadata into catalog software for library and rough cut
- Work independently and in collaboration with Director of Photography and Executive Creative Director on visual storytelling
- Conduct research and development, attend industry virtual events, and read publications to develop ideas and remain current on industry and artistic trends and developments
- Study various techniques and learn to implement them in artistic endeavors
- Create the Run of Show/shooting script and meet with the creative director to understand theirvision for the production
- Work with Producers to establish schedules, rehearsals, and technical requirements
